Pixel Skin Resurfacing

By Houston Cosmetic Surgeon, Dr. Mark A. Schusterman, MD, FACS

Pixel Skin Resurfacing is a fractional ablative laser treatment that targets fine lines, wrinkles, pores, and the overall skin texture.  Thermal energy is delivered in pulses creating tiny micro-perforations in the epidermis.  The procedure targets small areas of the skin, leaving surrounding tissue untouched and intact.  These unaffected areas act as reservoir for more effective and rapid tissue healing (little downtime) and collagen production.

What to Expect with Pixel Resurfacing

You can expect to feel as though you have a “sunburn” to your face.  The skin will feel hot, tight, and often mild tingling.  Mild swelling may also occur during the first 24-48 hours.  As new skin begins to replace the treated tissue, your skin will become dry and flakey.  Makeup may be worn 2 days after treatment.
