Spider Vein Treatment, Reticular Vein Treatment, and Broken Capillaries

As a part of our personalized treatment options, Bella Rosa offers laser therapies for spider veins, reticular veins, and broken capillaries.

Spider Veins are caused by swollen and dilated, small veins under the skin. When the pressure inside the vein increases enough to overcome normal resistance of the vein wall, spider veins appear. In women, the ability of veins to resist increased pressure is reduced when the body’s estrogen level drops.

Reticular Veins (tributaries to the saphenous vein in the leg) are small bluish-colored veins that are generally larger than spider veins. These thin-walled veins dilate with excessive venous pressure. When this occurs, they become large enough to be unsightly, but are not considered to be varicose veins.

Broken Capillaries occur when the final branches in the blood vessel system of the face become broken. They are usually a hereditary problem occurring in individuals with delicate, sensitive, or fragile skin, exacerbated by age and environmental conditions, including alcohol, coffee, and sun. Rosacea will also predispose you to developing broken capillaries. Broken capillaries often appear from the mid 20s onward, and become more noticeable as the skin begins to thin with age. Preventative treatments combine formulated skin care regimes with an emphasis on topical Vitamin C and sunscreens.

Laser Therapy for Vein Treatment

Bella Rosa uses the Harmony™ System which allows for treatment of spider veins and deeper, reticular veins with its long-pulse laser module. Advanced Fluorescent Technology (AFT) Light Treatments, a component of the Harmony System, are used to treat broken capillaries on the face.

This treatment system is extremely safe and effective on leg veins, as well as veins visible on the face, neck, and chest. The treatments cause very few side effects, and you can resume your regular activities immediately following the procedure.

Candidates for Laser Vein Treatment

Laser therapy is available for men, women, and children of all skin complexions and types. Patients restricted from candidacy include those using blood thinners or afflicted with a serious illness. Other conditions that may restrict patients from therapy are those with dark suntans or photosensitivity disorders, diabetes, bleeding disorders, or individuals currently taking photosensitizing medications.

The Vein Treatment Procedure

The number of treatments will be determined during your consultation and depends on the size of the vein and your body’s ability to heal. Treatment time lasts from 15 to 30 minutes. During the procedure, the laser’s heat damages the vein walls and causes the body to induce a healing process. Once healed, the veins shrink and become less visible or in optimal results, disappear altogether.

No “Down-time”

Generally there are no side effects, but swelling and minor bruising can occur. Due to only mild pain associated with the treatment, normal activities may be resumed immediately. It is also advised to limit sun exposure to minimize the risk of complications.
